February 2016 - Positivity Matters

       Community Wellness
Through Positive Social Change

Positivity Matters believes that if people have a better understanding of their own strengths and the strengths of others, that the community will thrive.

Positivity Matters is a project of Wellbeing Strategies based on scholarship about human flourishing to expand the mental and emotional wellbeing of the Lincoln community. By encouraging people to evaluate and understand their own strengths and the strengths of their neighborhoods, they will find the actions they take to be more rewarding at every level, where they play, where they work, and where they serve.  Positivity Matters hosts a weekly discussion group at Indigo Bridge Books over the noon hour and a weekly radio show on KZUM.

Nick Hernandez, founder of Positivity Matters and Wellbeing Strategies, has spent the past four years hosting community events to spark positive social change. Starting with Seeds of Kindness to promote compassion in December of 2012, the organization hosted Happiness Lincoln, a conference on wellbeing in partnership with UNL in November of 2014.

Nick, recently interviewed on the Positivity Strategist Podcast, (click to listen) encouraged everyone to identify and understand their own strengths then find ways to make a positive difference for others with those strengths.

To coincide with the International Day of Happiness, celebrated annually on March 20th, Positivity Matters is hosting a Lincoln Celebration on the same day, planning an afternoon to fire your imagination and inspire using your strengths for positive change. Free and open to the public.  Everyone welcome.   Register at http://celebratehappiness.eventbrite.com
